EMPODERARNOS

Empowering Ourselves

We Stand Together

Through providing connections to safe organizations, tangible resources, support, and more we are able to provide a foundation for farmworkers to stand atop and empower themselves.

Empoderarnos seeks to change the lack of resources and support through assisting our community in self empowerment while having a shoulder to lean on.

Every life matters.

Those that are forced to live in the shadows are too often forgotten.

They have beautiful hearts, families, full lives, and wonderful communities.

They deserve to have safety, warmth, kindness, and compassion.

Tangible Resources

Every month staff and interns of Empoderarnos visit farmworker camps around Marion County, OR and deliver tangible, needed resources.

These resources range from:

  • Food and hydration

  • Hygiene products

  • Warm and cool weather resources

  • Clothing

  • Spinal, muscle, and joint support wraps

  • Holiday toys and gifts for youth

  • Infant and toddler supplies

  • Kitchen/cooking supplies

  • And many other quality of life resources

Sustainable Connections

It is deeply important to us that we are able to offer our communities more than short term resources. We work with community partners to bring longer term, sustainable resources out to the people themselves.

This could include:

  • Pesticide Informative Workshops

  • Health and dental services

  • Vaccines and health testing

  • Housing Services

  • And much more!

In addition, Empoderarnos is working to create accessible, in camp resource books highlighting local, safe resources and organizations.

This will be published on our website when it is finished for 2024.

Young Adult Internships

Empoderarnos seeks to serve farmworkers from the perspective of the farmworker and their family. While our staff mirror the identities and life experiences of farmworkers, we see that it is of utmost importance to provide a way for young farmworkers or families of farmworkers to give back to their community.

Through short term, paid internships young adults from these communities are able to lead and guide Empoderarnos to best serve the real needs of farmworker communities.
